Our story begins in the heart of Quebec, where one family’s desire to provide warmth in a cold climate becomes legendary. From 1920 to today, the handmade features, natural fabrics and meticulous details of the Pleau products have stood the test of time, making Pleau hats, scarves and mitts sought-after accessories in colder climates.
On Account of the Cold
The Pleau brand originates from the heart of Quebec— Saint-Émile— where the winters are long and harsh, and where, as the saying goes, necessity became the mother of invention. In 1920, the Pleau family business begins fabricating its signature hats and other apparel.
Along Comes Gaby
The Pleau brand gains recognition with Gaby Pleau, a member of the Canadian National Ski Team, and one of the first women to know worldwide success in this sport. Her many victories between 1938 and 1943, and her countless contributions to this sport around the globe, provide exposure to the brand, and many take notice.
More than Just Hats
From the manufacturing of hats, Pleau expands to other winter apparel and from 1980 to 1996, the brand becomes the official outfitter of après-ski boots for the athletes of the Canadian National Ski Team.
To Function add Fashion
Today, our Pleau designers continue to be inspired by the rich history of our brand. With products handcrafted with the finest wools, furs and fabrics, Pleau ensures that the
100-year-old tradition of high quality craftsmanship lives on.
We believe that by handcrafting our products, we can do things machines can’t. Our unique fabrics and techniques is a reflection of both our deep-rooted tradition and our love of style.
As Pleau continues to evolve, our commitment to performance and quality remains. We create collections for the entire family with streetwear elements and urban silhouettes that can be worn in the city as well as on the mountain. Ideal for your everyday adventures!
